Book wall aka reading slump

Okay well I know some of you usually hit the proverbial brick wall, I call it the book wall. Last year around the same time it's happened where I go on a reading spree and then bamm it comes to a halt. I don't know what it is but it's infuriating. I have four books I have started, gotten half way through and just can't seem to finish them. It isn't the authors themselves because they happen to be my favorite ones such as J.R. Ward,  P.C. Cast and Lara Adrian. Pardon my rambling but my question for you is, what do you do to get out of that reading slump? Is there anything special that you do to help? I would like some tips because it's driving me mad.

Re-post on Fascination with Vampires

Okay on to the subject: Vampires. As I mentioned in my very first blog I love reading and watching anything with vampires. From Bram Stoker's Dracula to The House of Night Series by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast and The BlackDagger Brotherhood by the Warden herself, J.R. Ward. Why, well I can't answer that question for everyone. For me it feels like I'm sucked into an alternate reality and co-exist amongst them. Some view it as taboo my aunt being one of them, but I find it sexual and erotic, the way they feed and mate.I guess what I'm trying to say is that there is always a new twist, whether it is their methods of survival, how they die or what happens if they mate with a human, or if they can reproduce or not. The possibilities are endless, some might think it's crazy but to each his own.

With that being said I have two questions for you, 1.What is it about vampires that you love? and 2.what is your favorite vamp book or series?

Lestat and Louis

My favorite vampire series of all time: The Black Dagger Brotherhood

A New Beginning

It has been 5 months since I've written anything, so I've decided to start anew. Initially my blog was called NativeNewYorker and couldn't really get it off the ground. Life intervened and I also discovered an alternate reality called RP (RolePlay) on Facebook.

For those of you that don't partake in it, it's what you would call a fantasy world you go to escape from RL (Real-Life). You would create a character from scratch, with a biography and pictures of who you envision your character to be. It's basically writing stories on FB, I have made wonderful friends on there. I don't recall how I got into it but I do know this, I've been sucked in the second I've step foot into RP land and never looked back. I have learned about variety of music that I've never even heard of and also discuss different genres of books. It has brought a massive amount of book lovers from all ends of the world together; some from Australia, others New Zealand, London and of course the U.S.

This is one of the reasons I've decided to re-vamp the blog and discuss one of my great loves, books. I am big on romance such as contemporary, paranormal, historical etc.. I tend to favor paranormal romance the most. Who doesn't love a sexy alpha male that gets your blood going. Yes I am talking about vampires and wolves aka shifters, I can ramble on forever about alpha males but I'll leave it at that. My intentions are to blog more often on my favorite books and ones that I'm currently reading. I do hope my blog lives up to its expectations and look forward to hearing feedback and having discussion with those of you that follow.

Much Thanks from the Book Worm

January 28, 2011

It's been a year since I've written anything. So much has been going on in my life that I have neglected my blog, I know I know *hangs head.* I'll be up and running soon. Stay tuned.
